Taken on assignment for Vanity Fair in Kyoto, Japan, I caught this brief moment of a Japanese geisha entering a Gion tea house where I was having dinner with Mineko iwasaki, the famed geisha who's life story was the grist for Arthur Golden's "Memoirs of a Geisha".
